DEIJ CONSULTING & PROGRAMS

At DevelopWell, we practice an iterative approach to DEIJ to reflect dialectical thinking as we individually and collectively learn over time. Our collective approach to this work has been informed and is guided by those who came before us, particularly BIPOC feminist scholars, queer theorists, and disability justice advocates.

As a women-owned people operations and organizational development consultancy with a diverse team of practitioners, DevelopWell centers equity and justice in our approach to all engagements. This will be felt in everything from our agendas and meeting facilitation to organizational systems development and approach to team management. Our team members and consultants each bring various experiences to this work that align with the intention of making workplaces more accessible, more just, and more human.

This approach means that we aren’t interested in “one and done” processes. - DEIJ is not a discrete goal that can be accomplished in a year, but instead the ongoing practice of critical self-interrogation to further implement equitable and just practices. We apply an equity lens and an iterative approach to every project we take on because it’s better for people on their individual journeys, and it’s better for organizations.

Akailah Jenkins McIntyre, DevelopWell’s Principal Consultant of People Operations & DEIJ, brings extensive professional experience and a personal approach for holistic and tailored DEIJ learning. Every organization is different, and DevelopWell offers a variety of offerings to facilitate growth and resource clients with necessary tools, geared specifically to your teams and goals.

“Akailah is a wonderful DEIJ trainer and facilitator. She has the depth of knowledge, intentionality, and courage to support groups and individuals through the process and practice of building an inclusive organization. I especially valued the clarity she brought to the conversations on our board - anchoring us in a shared understanding of terms like equity, justice, and inclusivity. I also love the way she held our group care and compassion while also inviting us to rise to our best selves, take risks, and engage with the material.

I would trust Akailah to help any organization or team with their DEIJ efforts and I recommend her whole-heartedly.”
